Günter Frank is Director of the „European Melanchthon-Academy Bretten“ and extraordinary Professor of philosophy at the Institute of philosophy at the „Karlsruhe Institute of Technology“ (University). He takes a special interest in the relationship between theology and philosophy in the Middle Ages and in Early Modernity. He has been visiting scholar at the Institute for the Advanced studies of Religion of the University of Chicago, at the Warburg Institute of the University of London and at the Herzog August library in Wolfenbüttel. His books dealt with Melanchthon’s philosophy (published Leipzig 1995), the emergence of the philosophy of religion in early modernity (published in Stuttgart – Bad Cannstatt 2003). His last book examines the tradition of topics as methodology of theology in the Middle Age and in the time of reformation.
