Isabel Casteels


Isabel Casteels studied history at the University of Amsterdam. She graduated with a thesis on knowledge networks and exchange in early modern Enkhuizen, a city in Holland. In February 2019, she started her PhD at KU Leuven, on a research project on ritual executions during the Dutch Revolt.


Description of my interests

I am interested in the performative and ritualistic aspects of executions during the Dutch Revolt, and their impact on the religious and political struggles of the period.
