Sister Reformations III – Schwesterreformationen III

30 March 2020

From Reformation Movements to Reformation Churches in the Holy Roman Empire and on the British Isles, edited by Dorothea Wendebourg, Euan Cameron and Martin Ohst.

This bilingual volume explores the processes by which the various Reformation movements grew and took shape as churches both in Germany and the British Isles. Among the topics covered are how the preaching of sermons, congregational singing, liturgy, and the roles of family, gender and law developed and led to a new kind of clergy and congregation emerging.

Also, the theological and religious interpretations, that the Reformers themselves gave to this turning point in church history, are considered.
