To overview

From August 7-11, 2017 the international and interdisciplinary conference The Cultural Impacts of Reformation will take place at the old LEUCOREA University in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

The conference aims at a new description of how to understand the impacts of Reformation. It challenges generally accepted assumptions on the course and shape of the Reformations impacts. Therefore transformations between religious convictions and cultural contexts in the following centuries are explored. Given the significant role of the cultural turn in the humanities that has changed the perception of the emergence of Protestant churches and of the modern age, the conference will draw on and redirect the cultural turn’s methodological and theoretical impulses to the investigation of the Reformation’s cultural impacts.

Researchers are invited to send an abstract (max. 3.000 characters, space characters included) by e-mail before December 1, 2016. The abstract should outline an innovative perspective within the researchers academic discourse and within an interdisciplinary context. The abstract is to be related to a congress section. A contribution to a section lasts 20 min.
